The goal was simple. Turn 40 acres of cedar/oak thicket into a park. Do not disturb any Oaks. Leave a manicured Cedar roughly every 20 feet. Mulch everything.

Mulching produced a 2 foot deep bed of heavy duty resin filled cedar mulch over the entire 40 acre property. This massive fire hazard had to be handled proactively.

The scale of the burn required us to live onsite in order to feed and manage 17, roughly 1000 square foot, controlled fire pits for weeks straight with fire watch multiple times a night. Once fire pits resided, ash piles were distributed and tilled into soil banks.

The finished product of soil, ash, and micro mulch allowed for rapid greenery regeneration. Two years later. A thriving nature sanctuary.

All selected trees that remained were arbored with bark left unblemished.
